Q: How much blush should I wear, and what is the best way to apply it?

A: How much blush you wear and where you apply it depends on the look you are going for and the shape of your face. Rosy cheeks are very in right now, so I say go for some color. Pretty much everyone can wear pinks, at least on the apples of cheeks. I usually will apply either a bronzer, such as Bobbi Brown Medium, or a brown-based blush like MAC Strada or Stila Fade and sweep it back along and a bit underneath the cheekbones. Secondly, I usually take a great pink like Bobbi Brown Pale Pink, Cargoicon Catalina, or MAC Angel and place it right on top of the apples of the cheeks. Just make sure to blend so there is no line from one color to the next. I also really like blush sticks, as they are easy and provide a healthy, dewy look. My favorites are Nars The Multiple Stick icon in Malibu and Stila Rose and Petunia Convertible Colors. Just rub a bit on the cheeks and blend back towards the hairline. You can add more to build more color. A great blush brush also helps in placement of powder blush, so invest in a great brush by checking out the professional lines.
