Honestly, the very best hair protection you can invest in for swimming is a swim cap! I used to swim lots in the summer, and it really wrecks havoc on red-colored hair, so I got some adorable little swim caps. Look for cute ones at places that
sell all sorts of beach gear.
If you don’t want to go that route, look for a styling product
with UV protection – I like Aveda’s “Damage Control” spray or their thermal styling cream. I also hear that the Ouidad (pronounced we-dad) makes wonderful products to protect curly hair from sun and chlorine damage. Also, ask your stylist – they are usually very well versed in the perfect products for your hair type!
